Tales from the Museum

This fall, the Door County Museum and Archives invites writers of all ages to enter Tales from the Museum: A Community Short Story Contest. Participants are challenged to write original spooky or mysterious stories or poems (750 words or less) inspired by real artifacts in the museum’s collection and submit it to https://forms.gle/YXU82WwDRHLW16QKA by October 17. A panel of judges will select winners by age group based on originality, creativity, writing quality and historical connection.

Winners will be announced at a special event on October 30 featuring dramatic readings of selected stories by local actors. The evening will include separate Youth/Teen and Adult blocks, with costumes encouraged, festive treats, and maybe even a few tricks.
