7 Bucket-List Activities to Experience this Fall in Sturgeon Bay

Fall is in the air!

As much as we hate to see summer go, we have to admit, Fall in Sturgeon Bay is one of our absolute favorite seasons! Apple picking, fall colors, seasonal brews & goodies… What’s not to love?!

Here are SEVEN bucket-list activities to add to your itinerary for your Sturgeon Bay Fall Getaway:

Discover Gorgeous Fall Colors

Take in the beautiful autumn hues. Sturgeon Bay offers so many special natural areas and stunning parks to explore. Some of our favorite places for viewing fall colors include Cave Point County Park, Potawatomi State Park, and the top of the Jim Kress Maritime Lighthouse Tower. Attend Harvest Fest

A can’t miss favorite! Free and open to the public held on Saturday, September 16th – Harvest Fest celebrates the changing of the seasons. Features include the Old Bolts Classic Car Show, craft show, food booths, in-store specials, the “Tapping of the Firkin”, stein holding contest, and much more! See more event details HERE.

Experience the Sturgeon Bay Bridge Walk

A favorite of both locals and visitors. Walk over both the Michigan Street and Oregon Street Bridges for a 1.2 mile loop of the East and West Waterfronts. If you are in the area, stop into our Welcome Center and pick up a Walkable Sturgeon Bay Map to guide you along the way.

Shop Local at the Sturgeon Bay Farmers Market

Experience the flavors of fall at the Farmers Market! The changing of the seasons brings a new selection of produce. Find squash, pumpkins, apples, and much more. This market runs every Saturday morning from 8 am until noon through the middle of October in Downtown Sturgeon Bay. Learn more about the Sturgeon Bay Farmers Market HERE.

Go Apple Picking

Pick sweet, crisp apples or sip fresh-pressed cider! We can’t wait to enjoy freshly picked apples and all of the delicious treats that come with them, such as apple cider donuts and warm apple pie. Don’t forget to visit Robertson Orchards for an unforgettable pick-your-own experience or stop by their self-serve farm stand.

Sip Fall Flavors

Take your pick between a local brewery, distillery, or one of our wineries. Many businesses highlight special features to celebrate the fall season & flavors. Some of our favorites include the seasonal “Oktoberfest” beer that Starboard Brewing Company crafts to debut on Harvest Fest Weekend or Door Peninsula Winery’s mulled “Hallowine” that is packed with autumn spice.

Tour Door County Lighthouses

Discover the lighthouses of Door County this autumn! Tickets are on sale now for the 2023 Door County Fall Lighthouse Festival. This festival, presented by the Door County Maritime Museum, provides the opportunity for visitors to access lighthouses that are not typically open to the public, including Sturgeon Bay’s Sherwood Point Lighthouse.
